I am new to reloading the 5.7 , I have been loading the 22 hornet for years so I don't expect one to be a bigger pain than the other. I have a good supply of j-words for the 22 Hornet and AA#7 that should work for the 5.7, but my question is that I have a mold for the 22 Hornet a 39Gr. CG RN MP mold from a group buy. looking at data for the 5.7 with a 40 Gr j-word it can push close to 1800fps, so loading the 39Gr. GC bullet in the 5.7 at close to 1800 FPS will this cycle the action of a semiauto pistol?
Has any one loaded the 5.7 with cast? How did it go? Am I overlooking any thing?

I have but not for the pistol. I did load for my TC Contender single shot rifle.
The boolit I used was the RCBS 225-55-rf.
My boolits after gc and lube were at 58 gr.
I used AA#7 powder and srp.

It is a nice little round but a little trickier to load.
I am interested also to hear what others have had as experiences with this round.
I wish I had a 37 gr gc boolit to try other loads.
