Traded into a new to me TR commemorative 30/30 1894.

I fooled around and traded into a Teddy Roosevelt commemorative with a 26" octagon barrel, half mag. It has gold in the lettering, a TR coin in the right side of the pistol grip stock, nice light colored walnut with some figure to it. The best thing is it has had some honest use, the original owner had used it to deer hunt with sparingly. It has some ring dings on the forearm and stock, nothing thru the finish, some light impresssions. Blue is 95% on the barrel, lever and bolt, the reciever has some light border engraving, and is either finished in coin silver or a dull chrome. Great bore, and it probably has not had many rounds thru it, no brass marks on the usual places it will wear off inside and out. It is stiff, have to work it but it shoots fine and ejects a empty about 6 feet over my right shoulder. Even with the long barrel, which has a slight taper, it balances really good, holds well offhand, and when I shot some factory fodder thru it off a sandbag, 170 gr Federal, it put 4 rounds into 2"at 100yds. The longer barrel makes that front sight look tiny, helps in shooting good groups. I will be shooting some 170gr Lee bullets thru it shortly, maybe some 190 gr out of a Noe mold. Just thought I would share.

I am A Buffalo Bill fan and own memorabilia and own a 1968 Buffalo Bill Octagon Barrel 30/30 Commemorative unfired w/o the box. Gifted it to the older son a few years ago with a cased shrade knife and coin token same as mounted on the stock that came out around the same time. They are a lot of fun just to look at.
Got mine maybe 30 years ago for 400.00. Last one I saw for sale last year was a little north of a thousand.

I picked up a used Canadian Centennial off the forum a couple years ago. That 26" octagon barrel just screamed 38-55 to me. One call to JES and she left a 30-30 and came back home a 38-55! Now it just seems right to me.

I worked for a distributor that got specific serial numbers of the Winchester commemoratives. There are a lot of old guys who have/had stacks of these guns unfired and probably interred in the box for decades.
Which is a pity as they were all well made and everyone that I knew that shot one was tickled pink at the results.
