Happy New Year 2022: Hensley & Gibbs #50 PB Button Nose Wadcutter/RP Brass

Great way to start off 2022. The Hensley & Gibbs #50, plain base, button nose, ~146 grain wadcutter, Remington-Peters Wadcutter brass, Winchester small pistol primer, 3.5 grains of Bullseye and a Dillon 550B press.

It was a quiet rainy day here in Northern Virginia and I spent it loading ammo. The box is where the brass came from. A long ago purchase at a yard sale of 1X R-P wadcutters.

The “Full Charge” wadcutter using an original H&G #50 molds is one of my all time favorite .38 Special loads, too!

It is also a dandy field load for edible small game, too!

A nice quiet New Year's day here too. Very foggy, rainy and just barely above freezing. Too crappy outside here in New Hampshire to do much of anything.
Fired up the heater and I finished the last of the 1200 357 Mag, loaded with cast 130gr fn gc bullets, 18.5 gr. WW296, CCI SPM Primers, and mixed brass. They are pretty zippy 357's with quite the muzzle flash, particularly in the 2" S&W 640. I should be all set with those for a while.
Got those done and in the closet, then went to the "almost done" stage of prepping CAVIM 91 .308 military brass for reloading. They are polished, sized, swaged and trimmed. All that is needed now is chamfer/debur.
Oh yes, to wind out the day, I stripped and cleaned the Dillon 550b. I discovered years ago that a clean progressive press is a happy progressive press.
I listened to quiet classical music all day....I guess I am turning into an old fart.
This is truly a very relaxing and productive hobby.
My significant other calls it "man knitting".

Use plenty of lube. I had 1000 CAVIM 308 that were MG fired.
My right arm increased muscle size by an inch by the time I was done. :)
