I hope it's not a rude thing to post such a question. While Cast Boolits is my favorite place to spend time online, for cap and ball revolver experience and information, 1858remington.com has been a huge source also. Lately, my browser refuses to connect to this site. Ive seen this happen with a few others as well. Is it me or is the website crashed? Not real tech savvy here and don't know how these thing go. I know several people on Cast Boolits also post there. Anyone know what's up?

Moderators, if this post is in the wrong place, move it to where it best fits.

Hello yeahbub,

The Certificate has expired and Smokey is the only one that can renew it.
Unfortunately the Black Powder Revolver Collecting Forum is the same way.
Smokey has disappeared, nobody can get hold of him.
So it sounds like the Forum is Dead, I know I miss it.

Dang it. I honestly haven't been there in a while. A lot of good knowledge, and good folks. Sad.

Thank you, AntiqueSledMan. That is really too bad. I have a need for information from several posters on there. Leather work , mechanical mods, etc. Smokey, you say? I hope he re-surfaces and gets it squared away.

A happy and blessed New Year to all!

Hello yeahbub,

The "Colt Country | Home of The Almighty Colt" forum is still running,
I guess Smokey had turned the Certificate over to Captainkirk.
He and Shotgun Dave are in charge and doing a great job with it.
Most of the boys who were on the Remington Forum are there,
but to me it just doesn't seem the same.
Of course some of the old regulars have since passed,
so that might be what is making it seem different.
