I received an email add from Classic Firearms with the title "What would Santa carry?". It is a thought provoking question. I am thinking either a S&W model 29 in .44Magnum aka "Dirty Harry revolver" or a Colt Single Action Army in .45colt. He strikes me as a revolver kind of guy. While in the sleigh, it would be in a cross draw holster. What say you?

Do the elves load his ammo and clean his guns?

Doesn’t need one, you couldn’t get the drop on him as he knows if you’re naughty or nice. Not to mention his ability to bend the laws of space and time you couldn’t hit him anyway.

In his sleigh...a .30/30 lever action in a finely tooled leather scabbard.

On his fat old body, a Colt SAA in .44 Spl.

I vote a 1911 long slide in 10mm.

Santa is VERY old school - A Remington 1858 8 inch in 44, and a cavalry saber.

Now come on since Santa isnt bound by our laws, Everyone knows it would be a belt fed Browning Ma educe on the sleigh and a Thompson slung across his chest, with a 1911 on his hip. Rudolph's red nose would laser mark the targets for him

I see him carrying a fine pair of flintlock pistols.

. . . a Colt SAA in .44 Spl.

I'll second that, but a pair of nickel plated ones with reindeer stag handles.

(I figger he has plenty of sheds in his sheds with which elves can stock his sixguns.)

Reindeer = Finland (?)

Santa used to carry a M39 Mosin, but now carries a RK62 Valmut.

Now if Santa called his reindeer Caribou he probably carries a P14.

I was thinking matchlock or flintlock due to primer import issues

Santa can import whatever he wants.

Did anyone watch Fatman? In the movie Santa (played by Mel Gibson) used a 1911 and a Colt Walker revolver.

That was last year when he got shot by kids with a rifle. He may be packing heavier this year. The whole "proactive" thing?

If it’s not a SAA it has to be a 1911; 45 cal either way. He doesn’t need it; just likes the way they feel.

What would Santa carry? on his sled a a pair of Ma Deuce's on his person a pair of 50 caliber desert eagles. Why because when he wants your attention he wants it now

Well if he’s up in the air with his sleigh, why not laser guided smart bombs?

Double barreled, side by side shotgun on his sleigh and a silenced H&K Mk 23 on his hip.

He wouldn't need to carry, who is an enemy of Santa? But if he did, I'd say a pair of cased 1st generation silver plated Colt SAA 45s, Helfright engraved D coverage, Tiffany & Co. grips, anyone he would need to pull one on would be so dazzled by the sight of such a magnificent brace of Colts that they would be dumbfounded and totally lose their plan of attack... And ol' Santa, would turn and wink, and say "Who needs magic dust when you got a pair of these?"

:D This thread reminds me of a cartoon that a WW2 USAAC vet that I knew drew.
Picture this:
Here comes Santa in his sleigh.Rear seat mounted twin 50 upper turret,on the sides of the runners:5"rockets and under the sleigh another twin 50 ball turret.BAR in his lap.1911 in GI shoulder holster.
Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

A beautiful pair of engraved Elf-made flintlock pistols that magically reload themselves when they are cocked.

Silly question....... TOYS! .......of course! Since he is 100% pure magic and one of the immortals, nothing can stop him, so why bother having a loaded firearm on the sleigh, unless a gift for a good boy or girl!

All humans on this earth, no matter how good or bad during the year, still believe in Spirit of old Chris Kringle on Christmas Eve.

My Santa carries twin double barrel flintlock howdahs with extensive and intricate engraving, silver or white gold inlay, and light wood with ivory accents. Each masterfully engraved scene and design is clearly inspired by one of the many countries and cultures he has visited over all these years. Priceless, handmade, and meticulously maintained yet clearly showing centuries of wear in that wide black leather belt.

"I'm here for your head Fat Man!!!" said the Hitman.
Santa responds with "Your think you're the first???!!!" and a blazing 1911 and Walker Colt :)

Santa has been around for a while: I think he would pack an '86 Winchester in 45/70.

The one, and only one in existence "Asperlyaimless" never looked in the sleigh to know for sure after all it's just speculation.

I'm thinking Santa ain't gotta pack. You mess with Santa? You messin' with the whole trailer park.

Right hand carrying a sack of presents on his right shoulder. To draw he drops the sack which falls on the right hand side. This is the best situation for a shoulder holster or cross draw. I guess a model 58 Smith, 41Mag, 4" and a model 10 2" 38 in his left boot.

A well appointed sleigh has to have a coach gun.
