Does anyone know the inside diameter of a #9 (44 special / magnum) adapter ring for the 310 tool? Are there other shell holders that will do just as well and are more prevalent?
Thanks,
taylorh

In the 310 tool, there are no shell holders save the priming die. The 44 Special, 44 Magnum, 30-40 Krag and few older Winchester rifle rounds will interchange. If you are talking about the shell adapter in the handle check a chart, there are some that will work. If the case will enter the adapter, it will stop on the rim and the extractor can be adjusted to get it out. The dies will provide the proper alignment.

From the way you wrote I assume you mean the J type shell holder Lyman used in the TrueLine Jr and other presses? They are the same internally as the x type shell holders that are now standard, if that answers your question.

The 310 uses a #7 adapter for the 44 special/mag. The only cartridges that use the same adapter are: 30/40, 303 Savage, 303 Brit., 405 Win. and 44 Russian.
