Just for the PC record, I’ve been casting an MP mold lately and compared Harbor Freight white (which has a bad reputation, but I’ve used and it does work), with Sherwin Williams Powdura powder coat - which I picked up cheap on EBay recently (for $13 shipped per lb).

Both are shake and bake, both are completely coated, but the Powdura got much better coverage with much less shaking.

You can tell which is which! Just thought folks might be interested.

White seems to work much better for me when applied with an electrostatic gun. My white powder is the Cardinal brand purchased from a local custom coating shop. Gp

if you put smokes powder beside yours, you would stop wasting money on sherwin and harbor freight, but you do you.

I’m sure his is great, but I’m not worried about looks. As long as they shoot good and don’t lead, I’m happy!

So, do they shoot well and don't lead? And how fast do you drive them?

Haven’t loaded the Powdura, but the HF has worked for me at least at the subsonic velocities I’ve tried.

To the OP, I've seen and read a lot of posts about powder coatings and powder brands here:

PeteHow does the loaded ammunition look, with the differences in bullet coatings?

I want to know- are you shooting 45-70 or a tyrannasaurus hunting revolver[emoji39]

I have smoke's traffic white and it does a good job. Funny enough, it is much better on BIG boolits over smaller boolits.

Ha. 45/70, these are intended for subsonic loads through my suppressed Contender :) With 12.5 gr of Vectan GM3, they do right at 1060 fps, and really hit hard at 100 yds.
