How folks can buy a box of ammo in 1942 and only shoot 9 bullets is beyond me! I would have shot all 50 on 15 minutes flat. Good score.

In 1942 you would have shot 3 to make sure the gun worked, loaded 6, and waited for an invasion. Ammo and gun probably got separated in the 1950s.

There was no ammo for sale available in 1942. All production went to the government for the war effort. If you had any ammo, you sure did not waste it target shooting because there was no way to replace it. james

Tar Heel, I have a better one …. A 50 round box for Stevens 25 long rim fires with 49 still in the box
