Help Lyman D-7 scale

Just got My hands on a Lyman D-7 scale. No instructions.

It's different then other beam scales I've worked with in the past. Has an adjustment under the knife edge on the beam resting point.

What the heck is this ?

There a great scale. I have one and it's very accurate. The knob is to raise the beam off
of the knife edge seats to keep them from wearing. Just turn the knob to the right and
it lifts the beam when not in use.

I found the markings on the D7 harder to set than my 505. It settled quick though. I passed it on.
