Hi,
I looked around the net and see a lot of answers that don't work for my question.

Question is: I have an NEI 150 gr. (Yup, 150-not 158)4 cavity mold and the handles from 6-cavity Lee mold are too fat. The old Lyman mold handles with the hinge on the end won't fit either. The slots are pretty narrow and the holes on the Lyman are in the wrong place. So, what kind of handles do I need for this critter?
Signed, size does matter in Idaho.

I have a NEI mold that would not accept any handles that I have. So I took an old set of Lee handles that were pretty well used and filed them down to fit. It pretty much ruined those handles for anything else but they work fine for the NEI mold.

Do you have a set of RCBS handles? They are thinner. I think he cut molds for a variety of handles, you requested the handle cut.

My 1982 NEI catalog says "Please note that RCBS and Lyman handles both fit NEI 2 cavity molds. 4 cavity Lyman handles fit the 4 cavity NEI mold."
Good luck, Doug

Thanks but no cigar. The old kind of handles that are hinged on the end fit but you have to drill new holes. RCBS are too thick.

How much do NEI handles cost?

I've used RCBS handles for the NEI molds I own.
I have handles from NOE have to see if they fit.

Not an argument that they fit some NEI molds but just not this one 4-cavity mold I have. Obssd1958 brought me in a set of re-drilled old style lyman handles that pivot on the end. With the re-drilled holes, they fit.

I had a mold that the openings were too narrow gave them to a machine friend to widen the slots to fit the handles. Blocks were aluminum btw.

Was thinking of how easy it would be to shave the handles down or widen the gap but none of my friends have a mill set up.

I have handles from RCBS,Reading,Noe,Lee and some look like they may be a cast part that being did you might be able to use an angle grinder to thin the handles then leave them attached to the blocks permanently.

I might just do that but for now, I'm just going to drill some new holes in my old Lyman handles. This week I'm just going to set the block halves into the handles, center punch the location for the holes and drill away. Then I can return the handles that my good buddy Don loaned me.
