I have most of a jug of HS-6 and wondered if anyone has used it in 45-70? Seems as though it may be compatible.

I use the following site as guidance. http://www.gmdr.com/lever/lowveldata.htm It is dated, but reliable for the data included. I saw HS7, but no HS6. Prob have to work up and check for pressures.

TY LD, great info there. Looks like 13 gr. HS-6 at about 1025 for a 405 gr. boolit gave good accuracy. Caution, this data not verified by me! Also 11 of Unique at about 1000 fps looks good with a 405 grainer. Both those loads seemed good. The HS-6 load has more oomph. I also shot 27 grains of 4198 and that is closer to actual TD loads.

Kind of settled on 27 grains of 4198. Accurate and seems powerful enough. Reminds me of shooting 12 gage slugs.

I shoot a lot of 25 grains of 2400 with a 405 grain cast bullet!

13 gr of Green Dot worked well. Forgot that GD was an old pistol powder too.

12.5 of Unique on a 405g cast works fantastic out of my sharps.
