The brass bushing holding the crank shaft on my LM worked itself out and cracked. I got a new one from Magma but cannot for the life of me, get the shaft through the bushing when installed. Any tips regarding this?

I got the bushing installed but when trying to punch the shaft back through, the bushing flies out.

Frustrating!

Advice? Pics for illustration.

Thanks! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20211209/9df4bcda2aa93507a06f0fbc5d1d993f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20211209/959f358983a56c7ff03034ce5daf6f30.jpg

It may need to be reamed to the shaft size.

Hello hunter74,

I believe you would need to install the bushing, then ream to proper size.
It might be a good idea to use some bearing mount when installing the new bushing.

I used my dremmel on the inside on the bushing, and made a small taper. After a couple of tries I got it hammered in place. Thanks for all the tips!

Does the shaft go through the bushing when it isn't installed?
My thought is to put the shaft in the freezer.
