marine-tex "thinner"

i have a 10+year old 2 0z. kit of marine-tex that is VERY stiff and will be hard to mix. any thoughts for a thinner? i mixed a test batch and it still gets hard as a rock.

Heat it in a double boiler water bath and stir it up. Do not mix in the curing agent while it is hot or it will cure way too fast.

Most epoxies or fiberglass agents thin with denatured alcohol.
They both can be cleaned up with acetone , but I do not use it for thinning out the material.

Just heat it in hot water.

Marine-tex has a shelf life of 2 years, a new 2 oz kit is $22 on amazon.
