Took out this 35 WCF on the last day. 30 yards facing me, the 250gr cast took her right through the base of the neck and exited through her flank. She dropped on the shot.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20211202/76e5b2f210ed937d3efe31f1cc718eab.jpg

Nailed that femoral artery. I've done the same and did not lack for trailing spoor to follow. Good for you and the vintage rifle is the Plus, to boot.

Good morning and Congratulations !
Last day is always a great day to put meat in the cold box ! Not to many corn crunchers ever stop a 250 grainer.
That is a fine looking ol 1895 ! A 35 WCF would be a dandy to have. All our real 1895's are 30 GOV.

Congrats!
What is the 35 wcf?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk35 Winchester Center Fire. Slightly longer case than the 30 Army, slightly shorter than the 405 WCF. It's my favourite cartridge - though long obsolete. It was offered in the 1895 starting in 1903/1904. It was also chambered in the Remington-Lee rifle for a short period of time.

Well done cwtebay! Love the levers in .35 cal. and especially the older ones. I have been casting the Lyman 359318 HP (247 grains) for my .358 Winchester BLR and would like to shoot some deer with it but, that combo seems to be a deer repellant!;) Maybe next season.
