On 11/11 I bid on a Mossberg 340BB rifle & won. I immediately went to "Check Out" & paid by MC.
1. A few minutes later I received an email from GB congratulating me for winning the bid.
2. Shortly after I received another email from GB telling me to furnish the seller a copy of my dealer's FFL & i did so within minutes.
3. The next day my dealer confirmed he'd sent FFL copy to seller's email.
4. I was scheduled for neck surgery within days & told dealer by phone to hold gun until recovered sufficiently for my wife to drive me over to pick up gun.
5. About 10 days later I phoned dealer to let him know I was on my way over & it was then that I learned that the Mossberg had not been received.
6. Within the following few days I emailed seller several time with no response.
7. GB was contacted through their website contact form.
8. To make a long story short it is now 19 days after making payment & no response from GB or the seller. The only thing I get from GB is a request # & a copy of every follow-up request.
9. Today I checked my MC acct. & find payment made to seller's email address on 11/11. Bank records did show a phone # for seller. I advised GB through my assigned req. # of seller's ph. #. No response from GB. Failing to hear from GB to the contrary I plan to try phone contact with seller tomorrow ( this would allow GB plenty of time to tell me not to phone seller).

All I can do is guess since I do not hear from GB or seller is: 1. Seller does not wish to sell for the amount of the bid or 2. Seller is a crook & I've been fleeced.

Any suggestions on how I can get a response from GB. All I'm getting is a series of computer generated acknowledgements. I'm sure they must have some live breathing employees somewhere.

This may be my last dealings with GB.

Any help will be appreciated.
Henry

Lots of shysters on GB now. Id call the seller and if no luck, notify law enforcement in the city attached to the number. You can also dispute the charge on your CC

The Credit Card Company can fix this post haste...
Take the money away, and see what shakes out...

Call the credit card company.
They'll go to bat for ya and reverse the transaction.

I've never done business with GB and after hearing your story I doubt I will. Hope all ends well.

badguybuster, racepres, Winger Ed & tankgunner Ed,

Thanks loads. Armed with your info the issue is being resolved.

BTW: GB sent me an email wanting me to rate their service. I kid you not. My response to them was "what service".

GB has no part in the issue being resolved.

Once again: thanks!

I have done many deals on GB and have never had a issue like what you described
not saying it won't or can't happen and as you have found out it does happen
unfortunately it happened to you
Like the others have said contact the credit services involved if GB is out
leave bad reviews for GB they will act accordingly and do not want bad reviews posted
hopefully that will kick them in the ... to get to the bottom of this issue
best of luck

My reaction would have the same as yours (before this incident). I bought 3 other guns this year without any issues.

I have bought and sold on GB and never had an issue. Maybe I should knock on wood!

I've had a similar bad experience on GB. I bought some brass, sent the USPS MO a couple days later. (3) A month goes by and no brass, no emails, nothing. I contact the seller and he emails that he got no money in 5 days so he cancel the auction, post negative feedback. I ask him to send the MO back and he has not. So maybe he never got it, but why not email in a week or 10 days before cancelling. I can't trace the MO so I am out 75$. A lot of new players on the net auction scene who want to make up their own rules I guess. I will use a credit card from now on. GB wants all the document of my deal. Well, you can't trace the MO so there is nothing to trace. My word against his. GB has a 100$ deductable so it wont help me anyway.
Years ago I bought a bunch of cat bullts from a guy who was selling at raw lead prices cast and sized stuff. I bought about 180$ worth. So did about 10 other guys. We never got any bullets. Followed up with mail fraud case. Feds found the guy in SC and when the got his computer they found tons of child porn. The guy is still in prison, but I never got any money back.
So, unless the seller has hundreds of feedbacks over years I tend to avoid them. I never spend more than I can afford to through out the window.
good luck

You were smart to pay with a CC. I've been burned before on GB and will only use a CC now. Contact the CC company and dispute it. As others stated, let them handle it.

Off topic and probably way too late to help you but maybe others going forward. You can track when USPS money orders are cashed here:

My experience as well.

I now always use a CC so I would never be out any $$$ even if something happened. Using a CC means I pass on items offered by private parties but that is OK with me as I am not a collector. Got "burned" once on a private party sale when the guy listed the item as excellent and it was far from that...but it was not worth the hassle to try and return the gun and get my money back.

If you must buy from a private party, using a USPS MO will open up a crook to mail fraud IIRC.

The way I see it :holysheep some shearing has been done !
Try contacting the credit card company ... that's your only hope !
The reason I don't do GB ... I would be picked clean by the fleecers !

The issue is now apparently resolved. I have a tracking#
The seller ph. # from MC did the trick. The seller apologized profusely.

If GB had given me the seller phone number (I requested 5 times), the problem would have been resolved long ago.

I believe seller is legit, just a little sloppy with his follow through & the holiday season probably caused the sloppy follow up.

AS far as GB: there is no acceptable excuse for their lack of response.

They only care about sellers and fees. Mine wasn't even the right caliber as the listing but got strung out time wise and GB was worthless. I paid with a certified check. Yup, stupid me so CC's only when I do buy. Congrats and hopefully everything will go good once you receive her.

post back to let us know if the gun actually shows.. instead of a brick in a box or something.

with GB they do list the contact info for the sellers as well as the buyers
normally sellers and buyers have comments posted on their prior sales and purchases
check and see how many and what type of comments were left for the seller you dealt with before you bid or buy
but cc purchases are good insurance

I tried to contact GB several times to get my old.account information. No response. When I set up a new account and was having trouble entering my bank info they would follow up with an email about 4 days after asking questions with the wrong answer
. I figured it out on my own. They need to have a contact phone number! As others said dispute your CC charge as soon as there are issues.

The Mossberg arrived at my dealer Friday & I picked it up that afternoon. With one exception it is exactly as described & the photos on GB.

The exception was the magazine. The follower had been jammed down into the magazine shell & is tilted to about a 45 degree angle. All of the inside components are squeezed into the lower 1/3 of the shell. There are many Mossberg experts on www.rifirecentral.com so I sought help from them. To me the only way to solve the problem would be to remove the floor plate & remove the jammed parts from the bottom. The floor plate is held in place by 2 very small tabs (one on the front & one on the rear).

A member responded & says he tried the same procedure & one of the tabs broke. It seems that they are brittle.

The purpose of this post is to let you know that the seller is legit. He says he'll do whatever it takes to make it right.

My problem: 340 (same as 320) magazine are nonexistent. There is one on ebay for $85.00 + $8.00 freight & it doesn't look exactly like the one I have. GPC has an aftermarket one for $50.49. I think I'll send it to the seller & let him try to make the repair (if the tabs break, let him be the one to do it).

Oh well: I didn't mean to go further into my problem.
