...when it comes to 'DRIP ART'... :bigsmyl2:

I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH YOU SPEND...whether it is PID controlled or you use your 6'th sense...none of these expensive furnaces can make drip art like a LEE 4-20. ... :bigsmyl2:

Now you boys are certainly entitled to have your own opinion but if you disagree?

I'm not sure, it could go either way...I think the one in the middle is an Indian Chief.

You could probably sell them for a tidy profit at a local art show and put the money toward even more alloy. Just tell the hippydippies they are the result of an ancient Germanic divination ritual! Haha You wouldn’t be stretching the truth too much…

Hunter Biden would be proud to sell those, as his own of course.

Those look almost a cool as those things that guy on youtube makes by pouring Alum. into fire ant mounds.

I have made one of my 4-20's drip and form "artwork" to give to friends in the past. My pots normally do not leak because I maintain the valve and seat, but you can get some really artsy stuff from the little nozzle!

I sprayed them with clear lacquer to prevent any Pb contamination.

thanks for posting.

Now I'm going to have to pull the nail out of my old Lee pot, so it can drip again. Maybe you can make them into trophys, to give to the winners at your next cast bullet shoot

Mine looked like that fat slug in star wars - not much interest in the art world.

I’ve created a lot of that myself.

I agree - seal that with some spray laquer and put 'em on the market - I saw stuff that looked a lot worse going for good money in some of those new age hippie shops in Flagstaff and Sedona.

I could never get good results from a bottom pour pot. I usually take out the valve assembly and drill and tap for a 10-32 bolt or something similar. Both my Lyman pots are set up that way. Haven't used my Lee pot yet but one of my friends lee pot did leak and he got one of a kind artwork. Frank

I had to put all mine back in the pot or I would have run out of lead.

Good way to use your zinc. Then there's no need to worry about lead contamination. Then sell them for ridiculous $$ and go buy more lead!

And get $5,000 each from an unidentified buyer ... how come we aren't screaming collusion Nancy ?

I have three Lee drip-o-matics maybe I could go into mass production. I have made a few of those but I have always stopped the process before they were finished. What was I thinking?

Fantastic! Futuristic! Sci-fi! Ancient (looking).

MIDDLE PICTURE
Left - female
Middle - male
Right - Weathered OLD MAN!

Backsides - no intrinsic value added

I have made a bunch of these "stalagmites" with my "splash-tastic" Drip-o-matic, maybe not as definingly unique as yours, observed their potential as ART that SATISFIES ME, and still put all of mine back into the pot (I lamented a few). Thanks for bringing this to the community's attention (and poking us in the collective eye). You have brought attention to an "artform" with the potential for it to go viral and make a dollar...

Your pot is definitely UNIQUE (my last):

As the drip mound starts building you can move it 1/4" one way or the other or turn it on it's axis to start a different layer...
it gives me something to fiddle with as I wait before breaking sprue.

I have two lee pots, 10 & 20#. Neither leaks. I never empty them nor melt scrap in them.

No yuppies/hippies/greenies would even touch them once they figured out, they are made of LEAD! They might even call one of the alphabet agencies on you!??

My pot made a few, till I put a screw in the bottom. I thought they were neat, till I realized they were costing me lead.

I throw mine back in the pot before they get very big.

I read lots of reviews about bottom pour pots leaking. So I opted for standard lee 20lb furnace and use a RCBS ladle/dipper. So far I really like it.
My OCD would get the best of me if I had a pot that dripped/leaked.

Yes they go back in the pot!

They were costing me lead because they looked neat sitting on the self. They look even better sitting atop a piece of brass sitting in the chamber, ready to launch down range.

An old girlfriend had a family tradition every winter where they would melt a couple of pounds of lead in a coffee can over a stove and then quickly pour the melt in a bucket of water. The resulting "Lead Art" was displayed on the mantle all year. Each member of the family did their own art. I said that is interesting but did you know that molten lead and water can be a hazard? She was not aware of the Tinsel Fairy, nor was any one in her family. I warned her to ALWAYS introduce the lead to the water and not the other way around! I don't think that she got it though.

That is an old German tradition. The resulting shapes are supposed to give clues about the upcoming year. Kind of like reading tea leaves or tarot cards.
