Stopped in at a gun shop i visit once in a while. It was awesome. Someone was selling off part of their collection on consignment l got to hold:

Colt new service i. .45 colt with lots of proof marks and a lanyard loop.

2 Savage 1907 .32's

Colt 1903 .32. They had 2
British bull dog .44 made in Liverpool
Cz 70 .32 acp. Bought that one

Colt police positive in .32

Smith hand ejector. 32-20 they had 2
Also had Smith hand ejector in .44 special
C96 Mauser
Pepperboxes
Too break .32 and .38's by Smith, Forehand and Wadsworth, and Merwin and Hulbert.

In the long gun section they had a Trapdoor, a Model 81 in .30 Remington a pump .30 Remington with the case head inset into the gun, a wonky pump shotgun i had never heard of, and a Swiss K11.

I fondled them all. It was a great day for me. The 20 something clerk did get a little nervous when I stripped a Colt 1903 to show him the innards but all ended well.

I know the feeling all too well! I get it every time I go to one of the sportsman's swap meets held four times a year even though it's 99.9 % just sporting long guns.

I love it! Teach that tadpole something useful, Thumbcocker!

LOL The last guy I knew who got caught "fondling" something is sitting jail!

Sounds like you got to take a gander at a lot of nice guns . . . probably seemed good to stop in at a gun shop and they actually had some stock to look at. Glad it was en enjoyable time - your list includes about a half a dozen I wold have been drooling over! :-)

I try to stay out of them too.

If I go in just to get a bore brush, and come out with less than $100. worth of stuff---
I figure I got off easy on that trip.

Maybe when I’m gone someone will sell off my guns, but I never will.

1903s are a true joy anyways. Shot a buddy’s years ago and had to have one, gun dealer friend turned one up not 30 days later. Guy did business out of his house and had over 60 Winchester rifles in his private stock…had that same feeling every time I went and hung out.

Those teeny sights on the 1903's and the Savage 1907's kick my butt.

Lol I got a friend who is an FFL I jokingly call him my "Dealer " . I've learned the hard way over the years that if he calls me and says he's got something to show me that it's cheaper not to go.

Gee I don't see a problem with such a FINE day!

And while none of those guns would exactly fit in my collection,, I too would have enjoyed fondling them, and considered buying the Colt New Service 45.

For the last yearI have been looking for a 38 Special. The buying of the last year has made me save my money. I have seen a few in my price range, but, I have not seen the one yet. I know from past experience there will be two opportunities coming where prices will drop. The summer and early Fall of 2022 and again a year later. The politicians want every voter to feel good about them.

Someone once posted about the best revolver for 38 special. My answer was all S&W's Model 36, model 10 HB, model 14, and model 15. What can I say as I like them all. Frank
