I have this old mold in "like new condition" that I bought a few years back and was planning on trying to work up some mild loads in my Persian Mauser. The mold looks like the old 311413 on steroids. I am thinking "the load" with 2400 powder might be a good place to start. I know some of the folk on here are not real crazy about spitzers, but they really work for putting a hole in a high-power target at 100 or 200 yards.........................

16 grains was always my go-to load in 8x57, 8x60, 30-06, 8x50R, 8x56R, 7.62x54R and several others.

Suspect it would be a good place to start.

'The load' 13 grains of red dot. Shoots great in most of my military rifles.

My NRA Publication has an article by C. E. Harris titled "THE LOAD OR: What You Can Do With 13 Grains of Red Dot " it is also reprinted in the Handloaders Digest - 12th Edition .
As far as I'm concerned the REAL The Load in military rifles with cast boolits is 13 grains of Red Dot .
The other loads just think they are real ...they ain't ...they're imposters .
