Molds are designed to drop bullets that are large in diameter for the caliber. Then we size them down. I find that wrecks accuracy when powder coating. Does anyone make a mold that will drop bullets around .223"? That way the powder coating can bring them up to size and you don't have to size off .003 or .004 and wreck the accuracy?
Thanks

What I am evaluating right now is to buy a relatively undersized mold from Accurate, then PC, then size the PC just enough to correct roundness errors.

Accurate has a tolerance that is greater than the level of precision we’re after, so I’m thinking I’ll use the weeting method to enlarge the cavities and yield a larger boolit (if needed). Not sure if lapping only works with iron molds or not. Read somewhere that lapping compound can embed into brass cavities.

I use my 55gn RCBS 22 mold which throws 0.224" boolits, then powder coat , size and GC through an 0.225" die. They work great and are very accurate.
