I purchased a rifle from one of our wonderful members and if possible would like to use it for deer season starting the Monday after thanksgiving. I have no ammo, dies, brass or anything. Let me know what you have and how much you need for it.

Andy,
Do you have a suitable powder and a 44 spcl/mag seating die?
What weight and nose design of boolit, did the previous owner say it liked and would feed?
My .444 Marlin is picky about the ammo it will feed, so you need to know this about yours - probably!
I haven't done a lot of load development, so I can't make suggestions there, but might be able to help out otherwise.

The ammo advice I got from the previous owner was to avoid lever evolution by hornady. I might have a line on a box of 300gr xtp bullets but that is it. I have lee 44 mag die sets but no 444 marlin. I do have a few options available for powder. I appreciate the response, even though I’m cutting it close with using it this deer season.

My first choice of powder for the 444 is H322, outstanding accuracy with 265 and 300 grain Jacketed and cast. I've had good result with .430 and .431 sizing diameters, 2nd powder choice Reloder 7, then 4198. Scoped at 100 yards, under 1.5 MOA should be attainable. The Marlin 444 just seem extraordinarily accurate. I have not had any stability issues with 300 grain jacketed or cast bullets.

A wealth of information right here:

I also have a spare set of dies and possibly some extra brass I would part with if you're still in need. The powder coated 240gr boolits sold by one of the other members in the classifieds here work great. If your rifle has microgroove rifling, I would suggest having your bullets sized .431.

Please feel free to PM me with any questions. I love the .444!291966

Did you get your die set figured out?

I forgot I had a decent looking RCBS 444 Marlin 3 die Steel set with what I assume is the Lee #11 shell holder.

I'd let I go for $35 shipped, or trade for a hand prime tool, since I just half trashed my old Lee one.

*followup edit - Fastleo took me up on the dies, so they are no longer available.
