Rolling Block Help

I was wondering if anyone could give me an opinion on this Rolling Block.
I can’t get my hands on it to check but it’s supposedly a 32 rimfire.
The firing pin location seems to add up but the barrel is stamped 22 over the serial.

I haven’t handled enough to judge by the pics if it’s a 22 or 32 by the breech opening. Any ideas?

Could it be a rebore?

I think it will be a 32 based on the size of the chamber. The 22 over the serial could just be a shop number.

Looks to be a Remington no. 4, if you can find a 1/4” drill bit and it goes in the chamber it’s a 32 if if don’t go it’s a 22.

Sorry after rereading your post I understand you don’t have it in your possession to check.

After just looking at my own no. 4 in 22 RF , I would say it probably is a 22 because my serial no. has 22 stamped after the serial number but in-line not at 90 degrees like your pic. But a rebore is not out of the possibilities.

Anyone have a pic of a 22 chamber so we can try to figure out how the side walls of the chamber look.
Might be an exercise in futility but I figure this was the most resourceful bunch for the task.

I only have a #4 in 32 Long Rifle myself . Mine also has a 32 at the end of the serial number and it is inline as well.

Picture looks like a 32. It can be lined to a 22 but the firing pin may need to be moved. I made mine into a 32 S&W short but it got a liner because the rifling was shot.

That was my second option. Sounds like the rifling is good but I’m worried the bore will be oversized for 32 S or L
I might hold off. There’s a beater Winder Musket in 22 short at the same shop so maybe I’ll put my money there.

It looks just like my roller in 32 rimfire I havent bothered to do anything with it as rimfire 32 is virtually non existent the last time I saw 32 rimfire at a gun show it was nearly the price of a used rifle.

With the availability of various other decent single shots, I'd pass on a #4 in .32RF myself. I'd much rather have one in .22 with a good bore, than spend the money and time to try to make this a shooter. You'll be money ahead to find aa decent .22 single shot of almost any kind vs. trying to make this a good one.

Don't discount the .32 rimfire version. They are easy to load and shoot. Seller "tenmile" on gunbroker has reloadable 32 rimfire cases and the proper heel bullets. They can be very fine shooters.
