Our muzzle loading group is finally back together and we had our third match this past Sunday. Because of my immunotherapy I have good days and bad days and the result is terrific lack of strength and the ability to do much. I have been using my air rifle to keep my trigger time up to speed. The September match I tied for first but lost the shoot-off by 1/2 inch! The October match had me drop out about half way. This past Sunday I was feeling pretty good and won the match by 1 point! We shot a paper target and two steel turkey swingers which I really love. Here is the new and larger 1st place medal.

Good for you.
Glad you can get out, and let alone still WIN.

Thank you very much! It is rough some times, being 76, fighting cancer, terrible arthritis and losing weight (down to 185 from 220 a couple years ago).

Hey oldrader . . . that's terrific! I used to shoot years ago with a small round ball club and it was kind very informal . . . a lot of good fun . . cajoling and goo shooting. Glad you made it to your shoot and it's got to be a good feeling to have taken that 1st place home!! Keep your spirits up and show the young 'uns how it's done! All of our thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope you feel better and strong enough to make all of the shoots!

I had to stop immunotherapy just yesterday………RA flare up lasted over 2 weeks.102.0 temperatures for about 2 weeks and lost 11 pounds. Still doing chemotherapy and targeted therapy for esophageal cancer. My port is in my right shoulder so I’m trying to shoot my BPCR rifles left handed! Good luck!

Oh Damm, that is not good. My mentor, Doug Knoell, had cancer in several places and his oncologist kept him on chemo only, no immunotherapy and he kept getting sicker all the time! Last December he stopped going for treatment and the week before Christmas he just never woke up one morning! I don't want to make you feel any worse, but keep fighting it!!!

Congrats on the win. Both shooting and keeping it going.

I’m not giving up…………. I still do the chemotherapy and the targeted therapy. I knew I would have a chance of RA flares with the immunotherapy but we gave it a shot!
