My season is looking good, 2 small meat bucks on opening weekend. Liking this Nef 357 rifle. Bought barrel for $100.00,cut to 17 inches, added white bead front and peep rear sites. Frame from a 7mm08, slimmed down the wood and took 1 inch off the LOP.Length is now 31 inches and weight is 6 pounds even. 200gr Lee boolit, 2400 powder in 360DW cases, .75 inches at 50 yards with old eyes. To many small bucks in this area, I will probably shoot a few more this year. Both shots were high lung, pass through shots-dead within 30 feet, range 25 yards from my chair. Load was worked up with help from people on this forum Thanks - Danny - will try to get some pictures added later

13.2 grains 2400, not a top end load but it shoots well. Have 3 - 100 to 137 lb.animals on the ground, 2 small buck deer and a sow pig - 3 shots and none went over 35 yds. Lead is half wheel weights, and half roofing lead - marks with a thumbnail. Boolits all exited on broadside shots.

Way cool.

When myself or someone makes these short range shots--
I'm reminded of my Dad hunting when we lived in New Mexico. All he ever came home with was burnt blankets and a hangover.
