Anybody ever tried a lyman 412263 .40 cal 288 gr in a .40-65 ? I know the bullet is intended for the .405 win but was wondering if it has any potential in a .40-65.

I remember a thread on this at one point. I believe the sizing between 0.411" and 0.406" was the issue. But I shall wait to see what those in the know say.

I'll be sizing to .410" for a 74 shiloh. Yes I could see where taking off that much would be a problem.

That's only .001 per side. Shouldn't be any issues at all.

I don't have any of these cast up at the moment, but I think the as-cast diameter using my mould is either .412" or .413" using wheelweight alloy. Sizing to .410" should work fine for good accuracy.
