Got back from annual swamp hunt on Savannah River down the country a way. I usually post lots of pictures of dead hogs but will start with a medium sized buck that wandered his way into an encounter with my 3” 10 pellet buckshot load at 30 yds. 291316 You can see several pellets just under the skin. 291317 Enlarge and you can see 2 pellet holes through his heart. 291318 8 of the 10 pellets, dropped one somewhere. None of the pellets exited, so all the energy expended instantly in the deer. DRT. Killed 17 hogs, all but 2 with buckshot. Killed on one ridge in the swamp with 12 pellet 2 3/4” #1 load and moved deeper into swamp to another. Saw a huge boar moving toward me and waited until he turned broadside at about 35 yds. Bad news. He took the whole load in the pudding, woofed and moved into a thick palmetto/river cane patch. That was unsettling and I did not follow immediately. That load puts the whole pattern in 12” at that distance and the fact that it didn’t knock him down was a reminder that a big hog is a tough kill. Looked the next day but no hog. Anyway, hunted with 00 load the rest of the week. A few pics of the hamicide….291319 291320 291321 291322 291323 291324

Nice deer! If the pigs could talk they should call ya Ham snatcher behind your back! I keep looking at the first pig picture, looking at his tusks. Can things be made with their tusks?

Nice going Hal! That'll put a dent in the population! And fill the freezer(s) I'm guessing.

Thanks for the pictures of buckshot performance! I have a 3 inch load with 16 pellets of .31 pellets that should do the job.
