Hi guys and gals.

Hoping you could help me out with some ammo information.

FN 78 is the first batch. Guessing FN 1978

FMSF 765 65 is the second batch. I did see some info on this and the 65 seems to be in fact the date of manufacture. It’s a soft point.

Just wondering if anyone else has any more info on this stuff? There’s some available locally for a decent price. Some on clips and some loose. All very clean and stored beautifully.

Is it corrosive? Is it accurate? Is it berdan primed?

Thanks!

The 'FN 78' is, as you guessed, FN of Belgium, 1978 and, most likely, Berdan primed/non-corrosive. The FMSF is Argentine from the San Francisco, Cordoba military munitions plant in Argentina. I recall having some of the FMSF, imported back in the 1970s/1980s by Interarms, that appeared to have been milsurp with the original FMJs replaced by SPs. Also Berdan primed and, possibly, corrosive.
