Just curious. What did that sambar weigh on the hoof do you estimate. It looks like close to 275-300#.

Good hunt! I've owned a couple .375's over the years, one Marlin and one Winchester Big Bore. Both were excellent rifles chambered in an excellent caliber. Lotsa' fun to shoot!

I like the Win 94 in 375 but it would have to be the A. E., My eyes need the scope. You & that rifle seem to complete some nice work!

I have one of the early ones I bought NIB for $700.00 7 years ago and it’s one the nicest finished Winchester lever guns I have. I bought it to treat it like a 38-55 for cast bullets and has not disappointed.

I have a top eject and like Randy treat it as my 38-55.

This is quite common it seems! but it makes sense....

from my view, this BB was made as basically a 38-55 mag...... handle the bigger stuff a tad better...

but it was pretty much the same or if not smaller Rifle than original, this leads to the performance differences but most important the rear end.....

for open sight, cast projectile specifically, im not sure there is any reason not to load the 375 as indeed a 38-55 +p say and not feel at all under done, not hot enough or lacking punch...

those 38-55s loaded up certinly are something.... real nice shootin an seem to put a hurt on critters

ohh , yeah an no.... its been a battle up until a few years ago...

factory 200 were just flying high, missed some good animals with it early on...... when i started reloading an dropped the velocity off it evened out with the williams peep sight i put on! alot more adjustment!

now days its Awesome but only for what it is!!! close range hunting where i want to challenge myself against the animal ...

gets a bit easy per se just wacking them from 200-300m away....... that also gets old quick.
hunting the game, big effort an to me, its rewarding. :)

Thanks

Excellent HD.375! I wish y'all would keep this talk down. I'm on the verge of springing on a Winchester 64 that's been rebored to .38(.375)-55. That's going to require dies but, I have a NEI 280 grain RN mold. I am trying to resist!
