Question from a newby, please. I would like to build a rifle on an old style Contender using 7.62x25 brass reloaded with .308 bullets. Has this been done?
Any advice?
Thanks.

Anything is possible, with enough money to grease the wheels.
The 32-20, 30 Carbine, or .32 Mag are probably just as good or a little better, and readily available.

SSK does this with a 1:8 twist and long throat and calls it the 7.62 micro whisper. It will work fine. I think it would be pretty neat in a .223 bolt gun, but in a Contender just use a 32 H&R and do the same thing. My 10" 32 barrel shoots quite well with 220 gr. cast bullets.
