Affirm I shoot with Hi-Tek coated bullets with no GC with good results. At the moment I load for 556, 7.62x39 and 9mm. Experimenting with 30-06, 300 PRC, 9.3x62 and 416 Rigby.

Hi-Tek and PC. No lube. Some GC, most not.

The Hi-tek coating is the lube.

Don't know why you say 'no PC'. PC gives same performance as Hytek according to those who have tried both. Hytek is better suited to large batches of bullets (buckets).

The Hytek users hang out with the PC folks in the Coatings part of this forum.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, I'm going to start powder coating some boolits and I'm curious, you can use a gas check shape boolit without the gas check if it's powder coated?

I do it all the time for my 45/70. It works fine as long as you are not looking for maximum velocity.

I have found that powder coated boolits shot without the gas check are not as accurate as those with a gas check, But some designs do shoot very well without the gas check. You need to experiment and see what works for you.

Home cast HiTek coated are most of what I shoot these days, but that’s all at pistol velocities at 1000 fps, +/- 200 fps, depending on the load. No lube needed to prevent leading.
