Men are cleaning out a house near me and this item is among the stuff removed. It is very rugged and mostly cast iron. To me it looks like a piece of mining gear but that is just a guess. It is laying on it's side. Try to ignore the plastic bags. Any ideas?

Sheet metal roller? Might be an old hand powered contraption for making buckets.

Whatever it is, if they ask you to help move it, run! Or at least wander off as quickly as possible.

If one wheel is a little bigger than the other--- that's got to be it.
Some sort of crimper might be around there close too.
That would fit for making buckets, or some sort of scoop for coal or something.

I agree with salpal48.

Many years ago, I worked in a letterpress print shop and we had one almost identical.
It was used for printing a "first of" so it could be "Proof Read" before final printing.

SSalpal48 for the win. (In my opinion)
Maybe another type of printing press also...Litho press? Block print?
But some type of printing press.
