I shot the mosin today i was able to fire 10rds rds threw it with .319 sized Lyman 320366 bullets with a gas check. and Lyman 50/50 alox lube the charge was 13 grains of IMR 700X, Not the best load but i had some idea of what it would do velocity wise about 1400 FPS

the gun was able to get a group at 25 yards, was about 3" giver take,

as far as leading gose i only see some lead in the pits in the bore witch i kinda expected to happen but i did not appear to get worse as i kept shooting.

now i know this single lube groove bullet is not the best do any of you have some suggestions of a bullet i can use. keep in mind my rifling is deep at .318 groove and .303 lands

what kinda of loads should i mess around with?

I would drop the load down to 10 grs 700X.

For bullet lube you might try LLA or 45-45-10 in addition to the groove lube.

On the load, the Bullet i am running is a Spitzer type bullet, so i dont know if dropping the charge and lowering the velocity will cause it to not fly good.

are talking tumble lubing the bullets after i run them threw the luber sizer? will i loose the lube as i push them into the case or should it stick there?

I shoot a Lee 312-185-1R with Lyman 2827267 gas checks. I size to .313 and use White's 50/50 bullet lube. For a fun plinking load, I use 15gr of Trail Boss (1400fps) or 29gr IMR-4227 (2076fps). I have recently loaded up some RL7 but have yet to clock them.

You may have to go to a 32 caliber bullet if the throat will allow them to chamber.
