It pays to talk about your hobby at work. A co-worker talked about how she is into stained glass and takes classes and such. She just approached me and said that she had a box of it she wasn’t going to use. I popped by her place and her husband handed me a box. 6’ tall weighing 38.5lbs.
The thing is I feel like this is too good to melt down. Debating reaching out to a stained glass place and see if they would trade this for their off cuts (but obviously getting more then 38lbs worth back)
We will see. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20211025/5a33305dd80db2a31c7a47a12d59482e.jpg

Cool.
Yeah, marketed properly, its worth way more than scrap prices.
Especially up there where folks are getting going with inside/winter projects.

lots of times those are tin, not lead. make sure what you have before you trade it.

Good call. The manufacturer is Cascade Metals. Checked their site and looks like all lead but you can choose your hardness

That is good thinking and so unselfish. Use it for what it is best suited. You will come out ahead..........

Thats a nice score! I commend you for trying to put it back into circulation. Hopefully you can trade into a long term deal for their scraps.

At a glass shop I do business with it goes anywhere from $2.00 to $9.00 a strip. A 45# box will go for about $263.00. There appears to be several glass shops in Ontario. If one is near you, see about posting at their shop.

I’m in talks with one locally. She has scrap lead so we will see what I can get them for.

Lead came has been the cleanest and softest lead I ever found in a scrap bin. Less oxidation than xray shielding.
Good idea seeing if you can give someone else a deal on what they need and still get you a deal on scrap that will suit you.
