.

I made this loading block so I would have 3 patched round balls, three 80gr charges of Holy Black, and 3 percussion caps - for a quick reload if/when needed for hunting with my .50cal Mountain Rifle.

I seal the powder and the cap chamber(s) with corks (bottle stoppers) until/unless needed during my hunt(s).

That is a very good idea.
I may have to look into building a few for each of the calibers of rifles that I shoot.
That would have worked well for me when I was Trying to hunt Doves and Quail with my Blunderbuss.
Slow Reloading was one of my drawbacks.
I will just have to modify the blocks for the Blunderbuss to hold Shot or Buckshot as well as the patched balls.

Nice!
It is rewarding and fun to come up with your own solutions.

Actually, I got the idea to make my own after viewing a similar block elsewhere ( imitation is the sincerest form of flattery)

I always enjoyed making my own accessories for black powder hunting. I made a ball block to aid in faster reloading, but never actually found a use for it. The one time I thought i needed it, I shot a deer that ran into a thicket. I thought I saw it run out the other side of the thicket over a hill. Turns out the deer I shot was dead, just inside the thicket, and another deer had run out the other side.
