I scored some vintage supplies

Got about 15lbs of powder, lots of primers, bullets and brass from my late uncles stuff. Everything has been stored inside the house. I have only looked at the open cans as most of it has not been opened. The oldest price tags I have found is 1/1976. The 4lb can of SR7625 is about half full and appears to be in good shape. No red dust and no bad odor. One of the lbs of Unique(not shown) just smells old for lack of a better word, no sharp odors or red dust.

For any of the "opened" cans of powder, if you don't have any known powder of the same in your stash, I'd do a image search, just to confirm the correct powder is in the correct can. Many reloaders wouldn't trust opened cans. Myself, I have bought lots of opened cans over the years and after the smell test and visual cross check, I've haven't had any bad experiences, but you surely shouldn't skip the visual cross check.

AL-8 is a great powder for large bore magnum pistol loads (heavy boolits with heavy charges). I like it a lot, but data is difficult to find...also, the square flakes can bridge in some powder measures. I had best luck when using Lee's disk measure on a turret press, because of the vibrations inhibiting any possible bridging.

The SR7625 is the cat's meow for 45 acp.

I've decorated my "mens room" with vintage hunting/shooting stuff and have the same 4831 can (empty) as those. It has a $1.98 price tag on top. Talk about inflation, wow.

I just rec'd some older reloading manuals from a friend; did a quick spot check in Speer #8 and found AL-8 data in 44Mag, also Al-5 in a number of smaller pistol cartridges.

I also got some old powders from him as well; I confess that it's pleasantly motivating to put together some loads so as to burn it off. :-)

Cool stuff. I like vintage stuff for both decoration and use. I’d open the unopened containers and check them too. They can go bad separately even from the the same lot number.

The unique, I’d shoot it up, which isn’t hard to do round these parts.

Hate that you lost your Uncle but am glad to see that you got his stuff and it's not in a trash can somewhere. I have a ton of those CCI primers and they work just like the new ones. Enjoy !

My condolences regarding your Uncle. That said, I am green with envy over the powder and primers he passed on to you. I also have a small batch of the early CCI’s and they have worked well.
