I just got my second carbine for-end and rifle butt stock from a fellow member here (thank you very much!) and find it will not fit my 45-70 Hunter carbine barrel. The attachment screw holes on the barrel are spaced ~3.150" apart and the for-end attachment screws are spaced ~3.550". I am now guessing there are at least 3 different for-ends: a single hole for pistol barrels, a 2 hole with ~3.150 spacing and a 2 hole with ~3.550 spacing.

I measured my 14" Bullberry barrel's attachment spacing and it is the same as the factory 45-70 16" Hunter spacing. Are there more than 3 for-ends spacings for the Contender / G2's and what are the attachment spacings?

16" super barrels have a differnt spacing.
You can look it up on tc page.

Robert,

3.150" = Super 14" spacing

3.550" = Carbine spacing

Bullberry uses the 3.150" on his barrels spacing for his adapter.

I don't know what the spacing is on the current production 12" barrel.

Robert, sorry about that. Is there anything I can do?
I have fellow here that has a bunch of wood I could put you in contact with.
From what I read your 45-70 is spaced for a 14" forearm?
Pm me if I can help you.

Bcarver and JonK,

Thank you for the information. This is a factory Super 16 Hunter and it does have the smaller spacing. I have a handgun stock that will fit but it does not look right to me and I would prefer to get a carbine stock that will fit if that is available.

JSH,

You have nothing to apologize for. The stock set is perfect and our deal was good. I would like to get in touch with your friend. PM sent.

Bcarver,

I tried to find it on the TC page but only found a catalog that listed some forends without deminsions. Could you please link the page with the info here?

Thanks,
Robert
