Small Rifle Primers

Brownell's just sent me a notice that they have small rifle primers in stock. I went to the site. They have CCI bench rest small rifle primers for $124.99 a thousand plus tax, plus shipping plus hazmat. For that price they can keep them. That is $12.50 a hundred and that is before all the other charges. The most I have ever paid for those primers was $3.00 per hundred with tax. I plan on keeping my scalp. james:sad:

So ya pay the shipping & hazmat fee for each 1,000.
No combining expenses for more than one much less like when you got free hazmat and or shipping for 5,000.

High but the last time I saw them was when the rush started and they were $70 per M. The BR primers are more costly to begin with.

That's cheap LGS I frequent had them at $189. I also saw a box of LPP on a reloading site the other night $400

Why, would that obligate them to sell them to you for a certain amount?

Personally I'm glad things become available. When 8 pound jugs of certain powders become available, I don't care if they're 2x (and maybe even 3-4x) the normal price, they will be on their way. I am quite sure I value them way more than a lot of the people who are currently hoarding them in their garages and I'm looking forward to paying whatever price is necessary to eliminate the shortage.

Primers, on the other hand, I have a ton and I'll buy more when they're freely available and the prices come down, because I don't need any.

downzero, to answer your question; no, it doesn’t obligate them to sell at any amount but obligates me on where to direct my ire at the high price. It also would indicate what part of the price is due to component price increases. It’s your affair if you’re not curious, and mine to wonder why things happen.

Was in Brownells yesterday - Four boxes of primers in the whole retail shop. Same price as OP just no shipping or hazmat - passed on the primers, picked up some AA 28 and 410. Only 8 pounder they had in stock was 50 caliber stuff.

With the material shortages we have now, I'd be buying at that price if I needed some. It may be a while before primers are widely available again.

Just a heads up. Last week a 8 pound jug of H4350 on Gunbroker sold for $940 including tax, shipping and CC fees. 40 bidders.

I have watched SRP at Natchez for a month, now. $90. That seems to be the lowest online price for any kind of primer, and it's good to see they didn't run out, yet.

If people are "adding to their stash" at $85.00, it looks like I'll have to wait until some of these folks are dead to buy their primers. I'll just have to figure out new ways to waste time, to spend more time reloading but not accomplishing much.

I'll be casting my own cases out of sand molds, soon!
