I just posted in another section that I have a new Freedom Arms 97 in .44 Special. This makes a total of three .44 Specials. The other two are a S&W 28 conversion and a S&W 696. This question is only about the FA.

I've accumulated articles from Handloader and have the latest Taffin book so information is available. Like many here I also have several molds that differ from the cast bullets specified in print. One big surprise is a Lee 6 cavity group buy mold from way back. It was designated 432250. It is a round flat with 3 crimp grooves(or groves as many here prefer). I am curious if anyone here uses this boolit. After a couple of dozen rejects, the mold started dropping very good boolits. They sized and lubed well at .431". I tried to sell this mold awhile back and nobody wanted it. Now I'm glad.

I also have 3 RCBS molds for SWC boolits in 240-250 grains, and other molds ranging from 200 grains thru 225 and up to 256(designated, not actually cast).

Mr. alamogunr- It probably won't come as too much of a surprise, but for me the Skeeter load works wonderfully in my FA 97 .44Special.

In both my 44 specials with any boolit in the 240/250 range a charge of 5.0 grains of Bullseye has shown to be the accuracy load. Guns are a flattop Ruger and a Uberti Bisley.
