I have a gewehr 88 commission rifle with a really bad barrel.
Anyone know of any rebarrelers in Canada?

Whatever you do is don't throw out the barrel shroud. The section in the back has the piece where it covers the threads on the receiver and spud for the front guard screw. If you can find a good small ring swedish mauser sporter barrel it can be made into a nice sporter without the shroud except the items previously mentioned. Frank

Mrrch:

Check the CGN site. IIRC, there is a list of competent Canadian Gun Smiths.
I can assure you, it won't be cheap. The blank barrel alone will probably be $400.00, not to mention the instalation.

Ron Smith in Wimbourne AB, can make you a barrel.
Or, try IBI (International Barrels Inc) they are located in Chilliwak BC.
They have various profiles available and offer either 416 SS or 4140 for barrel material.

I know that Prairie Gun Works here in Winnipeg bought hundreds of barrels from IBI for all their custom rifles, including their .50.

Sarco cannot ship to Canada.
I checked out IBI. Their prices seem obscene to me but it does not mean much.
Bits of Pieces is the Canadian dealer for Green Mountain, and they can procure GB blanks. Last I inquired, their prices were pretty much on par with GB plus some premium and shipping/handling.
