[Well, my son has finally gotten off dead center and is ordering a 1911 in .40 S&W - it will be my lot to keep him in ammo. To that end I have the nice Lee TCFN 1n 175 grain persuasion. Would like to know what lodas are your favorites. I have the Dillon set up fo .40, but so far, no action. I guess he got an end-of-year bonus, or something, so thinks he can afford a new gun.

Whatever. Need to know your thoughts on same. And it will be used primarily as a paper-puncher.

I just finished a lot of 40 S&W using this same boolit. Light target loads get 4.0 grains of WW-231 (c. 800 FPS), 4.8 grains closely duplicates "factory" carry rounds (c. 975 FPS). Cartridge OAL is 1.135", WSP primers and WW cases.

Time for bed!

I like 4.4 grains of WST loaded out to 1.135" with the Lee 175 gr SWC. Water quenched wheel weights with 20:1 tin. I size mine to .402 through a glock 23 with Lone Wolf barrel. Nice target load. I think it's around 900 fps.

I like 4.3 grains of tight group, or 5 gr of unique with that boolit in my 40 S&W, both shoot real well in my G 22 with a lone wolf barrel

+1.

231 is some clean burning stuff and a pound goes a long way in the .40.
