Some of my reloads would not chamber in my 45 1911. The boolit is TL. I tumbled them in Lee liquid alox, no sizing. Most chambered ok. I could see a little more bulging around the ones that would not chamber. I bought a chamber checker after I loaded these and sure enough about 1/4 of them would not chamber in the checker. I ran all of those through the shell sizer without the primer punch. There lies my question. How much do you think that will raise the pressure? they all went through the sizer quite easily.

What is your load data, powder, charge and original OAL and What is bullet dia. as cast ?
You could have removed your bbl. and done the plunk test.
Where was the bulging at the case mouth ?
A picture would help maybe ?

AOL is standard length for this boolit. I loaded it to the grease grove next to the head of the boolit. The load is under max pressure. The powder is Industrial Pistol Powder, and is no longer made. I have four cans left. It works great in the calibers listed on the side of the can. One load for each different caliber. The bulge is right around the the seated boolit. If I had sized the boolits they probably would have chambered easily.

Pressure will be less. Lead will not spring back as much as brass. Watch for bullet set back on chambering.

So knowing this if the OAL you loaded to is same than nothing should have changed. Fire one and check for pressure signs.
I use that mold and size at least .001-.002 over my bore as long as the plunk test is good. They feed and shoot well fer me. Some bbl might have tighter chamber hence the plunk.

The 1r needs to be seated deeper than a standard 2r design

The OAL is not the problem in this case, it is that some of the unsized Tumble Lubed boolits are causing the case to expand to much to enter the chamber. It was an easy fix after getting some advice on here.
The Lee 1R bullet has a blunt, fatter ogive than the 2R. Reported many times here, the fatter 1R needs to be seated much deeper than the 2R or "standard' 45 ACP cast RN bullets...

There is someting wrong with the 45 acp - 1R nose profile ... it was the first 45 acp mould I ever bought and hated it from day one ... had to deep seat it to get it to function and never got 100% feeding with that stinker . I sold the mould for $2.00 at a garage sale , told the guy it was a wonky design and felt like I had cheated him ... He wanted it for a revolver so I didn't feel too bad .
I got a Lee 452-200-SWC and it's much more better . If you want a 230 grain get the Lee452-230-TC ...the truncated cone feeds well .

I have a 1R collecting dust too. I bought a TL2302R, size to .452 and haven't looked back.

I did like using it for long-seated Webley loads as they were quick to ID and crimped in the first groove, but now just use a rcbs RN and load them into full moon clips right away or mark the primer with blue sharpie.
