Just recently received an Accurate .380 300gr 2 cavity mold. Was ordered, so as to drop 300gr bullets fro scrape WW. The mold was cleaned . Powdered graphite was rubbed across the top of the mold , & the top & bottom side of the spure plate. Alignment pins also lubed. Used a Lee 10# bottom drop pot. Took a bit to get things warmed up. First 40% or so of the pot was a learning curve with the new mold. Finally got in tune with what the mold liked. Once the mold warmed up to me , good bullets started to drop. Next pot ought to be considerably more successful. After visually inspecting & measuring each bullet I ended up with 121 keepers. All retained bullets weighted between 305 & 306 grs. Bullets dropped from the mold at .381 to .382. PC'ed & sized to .380. I want to workup a load between 1400 & 1450 fps. for my Marlin Cowboy 38-55. With it's
1/18 twist it should easily stabilize this bullet, 1.07" in length. This weight of this bullet with the 1400 fps velocity should make it able to perform decent to 200yds. Max range I would ever expect 289630289631to use it. May be a day or two before I can start trials. PC'ed to J.D. Green
