Ideal .266 469 cast 150 grain bullet with gas check. ( long round nose, gas check base )
I need a good load for 300 yards for this months match to knock down some steel pigs using my 1903 Greek military rifle.
Any of your loads for 6.5 M/S, 6.5 Dutch, 6.5 Carcano, 6.5 Jap using a bullet like this that you have shot at this distance load info would be helpful.

I'll try 18 grains of 5744 and see how that works.

Experiment with OAL and for sure anneal your neck area each loading. Both can make a ton of difference.

As my Dutch 6.5 has a .269/.270 groove I have only shot the 266469 paper patched, but not at longer distances. I believe I loaded 26 grains of IMR 4895. With the Lee Criise Missile 16gr of 2400 has given as good accuracy as I am capable of with the little carbine. In a better barrel the load would likely do well at 150 to 200yds.
Bullet holes from the Cruise Missile show signs of tipping but when shooting paper I don't care ax long ax they go into a group. I have seen 220+ grain .32-40 bullets make oval holes in a sub mod group at 200 yards.
