Is anyone xrf testing alloys anymore? BNE used to, but I haven't heard from him...

Am I understanding you right; that you pm'd BNE and he hasn't replied? I expect he will get back to you.

An alternative (not cheap) is to have the analysis done by Rotometals. Another is to see if a local metals recycler is willing to use their XRF gun on your sample.

Yes, I've pmd with no response. I have a local source, but they're VERY expensive...

10sandxs, look in your hometown and see if you have an industrial X-ray company, most of the time these guys have a PMI ( positive material identification) tool they use. Most of the time, not always, if no written report is needed, ( just take a photo of the screen) they won’t charge you any fees. Good luck.

I’ve taken a sample to our local college. Their geology department was able to run the test for me.
