Getting ready for annual deer hunting trip up north. 269 grain plain base flat nose PC'd over 31 grains IMR 4227. Loaded some 310 grain flat nose gas checked PC'd over 38 grains IMR 4227 also. Both group about 6 inches at 100 yards. I hope to get better with practice.

if you are doing cast
take the insert out
will save you lot of grief
been there
that better be a very good scope. 460 will blow most up

Congrats on your 460, and Good Luck this season! I’m envious of you having 4227....really want to try it in mine. Though, WW 296 is performing pretty well, for me. Hoping to get something this year with mine as well. I have both deer and elk tags.....maybe, some mentally impaired animal will sacrifice itself for the cause! memtb

Are you referring to the compensator? I haven't noticed any problems yet with PC'd bullets. I have the one recommended for lead bullets installed.
This Leupold has survived my TC Super 14 45-70. I doubt the 460 will hurt it.

I agree! Scope damage, especially with the Leupold, shouldn’t be an issue! With the weight of the XVR and the brake.....felt recoil is pretty mild! Well, at least with my 400 grainers @ 1500 fps.....your mileage may vary! memtb
