How similar are the Lyman 429244 and the RCBS 44-240-SWC?

I’d love a side by side comparison picture. How similar in weight and how similar in used case volume?

I don’t have the Lyman but I do have the RCBS. My RCBS weighs 248 grains ready to load, from ww alloy. I hear tell the Lyman 429244 is heavier.

I have seen side by side comparrisons of 12 different bullets made with Lyman 454424 molds and 11 different 429421 molds. Lyman didn't care if the replacement cherry was the same as the previous one for decades. What you are asking would be great to know but it is a total guess that the next one would be the same.

I’d like to see the 429421 pic. Don’t suppose you have a link to it?

I believe I had the RCBS mould you refer to and still have the #429244. I never did a side-by-side comparison, but don't recall a significant difference. I used mostly #2400 powder during the many years I loaded .44 Magnum.

Midwayusa has all 3 bullets . My old photo.

Lyman molds are regulated with their alloy. Plain ww may be undersize as they drop from the mold.

I am more wanting to know if the 429244 is worth having, considering that I have the RCBS 44-240-SWC. I’m also interested in bullet variances.
