Looking for a .22 cal barrel blank. I have a Martini that had been converted to rimfire by Greener for the NRA.
The barrel is a sewer pipe and relining it really isn't an option.

I'd like something around 26 inches long and has to be a minimum of 1 3/16" - 1 1/4" in diameter due to the fact the thread is 1".

If you know of a manufacturer who has something like this, please post the information.

Greetings,

Either Shilen, Krieger, or Douglas make a good rimfire barrel. All offer blanks that you turn down to finish diameter.

Next decision is do I want CrMo or Stainless?

Cheers,

You might check out Green Mountain Barrels. I don't know if any they have are large enough in diameter for you, but I have had good results with their .22 barrels.

I would visit rimfirecentral website and we what maker is the flavor of the month! Like what fc said, all the major barrel makers can make what you want.

Might also try E.R. Shaw also. I have one of their 1.25” blanks fitted on an action in 260 Remington, it’s a tack driver. Good company to deal with.

Douglass makes them.
Also CPA Singleshot Rifles stocks hundreds of full diameter blanks for their use and for sale. They can get what is not shown in the makers lineup because CPA orders by the hundred.

Thanks for the information gentleman.

I checked Green Mountain, but they don't have a .22 cal, 1-16" twist barrel, the size I'm looking for.
All they have that is close, was one in 1 1/16", but it's out of stock.

I will check out the other sources.

Either a shaw or drill it for a liner, they are surprisingly accurate.
Also I may have a shilen rimfire blank that would fit your needs its a standard grade heavy barrel

A bit late to the party but Ron Smith - RKS Enterprises, Wimborne, Alberta is a master barrel maker. I know he's been making cut rifled .22 barrel liners - don't know why he wouldn't make a full on .22 rifled blank.
Be prepared to wait - there's a line up !

Thanks for the heads up. I'm fully aware of Ron Smith, I've purchased barrels from him in the past.
He makes an excellent product. Problem is, waiting a year or more is longer than I'm willing to.

26" barrel will be slowing down 22lr by a lot. 20" is probably the longest that still has no detrimental effect on velocity. If you have to put that long of a barrel on then consider counter-boring down to 20".
