I've always had a soft soft for the BSA Martini target rifles. Thick walled action, nice trigger and they shoot the bull with monotinuous regularity. Thic is my "International Mk2" left handed, complete with an aperature sight which is also left-handed.

I have the exact rifle, too, a Left handed MKII International left hand complete with the PH 25L sight.
Great rifle. I have been shooting it in a Mini Palma match at my club.
Shoots great.... when I do my part....
Currently using it with a Unertl 2"/ 20X scope

I like the wood box you have for yours. Mine has to ride in a plastic hard case.

Have a Mk3 with the International sight and a Mk5 that had scope mounts for an external adjusted scope and the sight. I picked up an Oliver scope off eBay years ago and it is on the Mk5. The sight sits in my closet today.

When I was in university, 50+ years ago, the school had one. I got to use it a lot and loved it.

A few of the guys who shoot our 22lr indoor league and competitions have some version of that rifle. Never have handled one.

B.A. I know what you mean. I have a BSA 12/15 and a #8 sporting rifle both fitted out with PH7a rear sights and globe fronts. I had a MK1 international but it shot no better than the 12/15 and one day someone saw me shooting it made me an offer so away it went.

Yes, I also started with a BSA 12/15. Very accurate, I won a number of long range (up to 200yds) gong matches with it.
But, my International MKII is definitely more accurate. Consider the 12/15 is no comparison to the trigger of the MKII.

This little BSA Martini came up for sale nearby a few months ago. I met the very spry 90 year old rifle shooter who decided he preferred his Winchester Model 52 and the BSA was surplus to his needs. Seeing what he could do at 50 yards with the BSA, the Winchester must be special indeed.

The serial number is 53901.

Thanks to the excellent site ( rifleman.org.uk ) I learned a few things.

It is equipped with A.G.P. Model 2 tunnel fore-sight and a Parker-Hale 7A rear. It is certainly pre-war.

The barrel is marked: "Superior Nickel Steel" and it was relined by the Phoenix Rifle Repair Co - Birmingham, at some point before coming to the US.

It came with a Litschert 20X scope. Internet research tells me that this was a well-regarded scope made in the late 1940s through the mid 1950s

The old guy says the rifle likes SK Standard Plus. (It does when he was shooting it.)

The performance of your BSA Martini club rifle makes me want to go back again from my MKII Int.
to the 12/15 and see how it groups with SK Std plus as well as some other good ammo

The last BSA 12/15 that I bought was absolutely not looked after. Rust pitting to 90% of the barrel and action BUT it had the Parker-Hale target sights and the front sight inserts. All this for $200!

I bought it to make a custom centerfire varmint rifle in 5.6x50R but after the first range session, I decided to keep it.

ive got a lh international with a scope mounted on it<i think the base came from Australia> shoots most ammo well but really likes cci mini mag 35g hollow points which it shoots as well as target sks which costs 3x as much.and my 1022 ruger likes it too which is a great result.
