Please post if you hear back from Western/Accurate. It was a good powder back when it was available - 12 years ago or so. I never had the greatest results with cast, but it works very well in the small rifle cases with jacketed.

This is great stuff in the .222 Remington. There's only about 15 pounds left out in the powder safe, so if they actually get this in I'll have to make room for as much of it as I can afford.

AA 2200 is a great ball powder. It's burning rate is somewhere between AA1680 and AA2230. I have had limited experience with it, however I have a friend who has used dozens of pounds, mostly in .223, and loves it. I bought some MR 223(now AA2230) in large quantity and am still using it to this day.... I bought it cheap. Hopefully the 2200 will be reasonable as well.

The "old" AA2200 was an extraordinary good powder for the 40 grain j bullets in the 223, and light 222 j bullet loads at the max, and for our purposes here, the 257420 in the 25-20. I would like a bit more myself.

I realy like AA 2200
As I still have 2 + 8lb jugs left from our order years back

I guess I will be able to restock when I use up what I have

But It looks like it will be a lot more $ than I payed before
As I remember , it was about $34 per 8 lb if you ordered a case of 4 jugs
And free Hazmat if you ordered 4 cases they payed the hazmat

Dark Helmet, you nailed that ! The site needs an e-mail alert capability, or an ALERT ! FOrUM for such things. Or we need to do local group buys to escape or reduce hazmat, with delivery by the buy leader at shows. BvT

I looked at the midsouth link, but it's as expensive as 2230, so I'm not sure it's worth it. I did have good success with it in .223. it say's "on order".

as far as i am concerned, the only real advantage of 2200 was PRICE. its price was drived from its source( new, mil surplus). making it new will negate its true advantage. i have no intentions of buying new 2200 at 100 buck plus for 8 lbs.

i still have a bunch of it and various lots of 2230...........
