An Accurate 380gr ( WW ) 45 cal bullet mold arrived. When ordered it said 8 to 10 wks. As it turned out, about 4 1/2 wks. Will get some bullets cast tomorrow. Then PC, & shoot some time this week, hopefully. 287820I have 300, 350 , & 405gr ( actually 422gr with WW ) molds. I believe this 380gr will do all that I want. It is a PB. Looking for 1500 fps with accuracy, which I believe is doable. Any thing around 1400 or above & I will be quite pleased. Oh Ya, for my 45-70.

Nice looking mold, glad you got it so quick. I'm half way through the 10 week wait for my .45 pistol mold.

That's a great looking bullet profile. Let us know how it shoots.

Got some cast up today.Grabbed a bunch of my scrap WW , at random. Melted them down in my Lee 10 Lb pot. Fluxed once at the start with unsalted lard. Must have been having fun , because before I knew it my pot was empty. Weighted several bullets , & they came out at 389 to 391grs. That's with in less than 1/2 of 1% difference. The bullet was suppose to be 380gr when cast from WW. Measured several & they all between .361 & .362. I consider that perfect. I will be sizing at .460. Plan on PC tomorrow. Ended up with 133 bullets .287856287857 I'm hoping my 45-70 is going to really like this bullet. This will end another day.

Finally got these bullets PC'ed & shot today.Using a load of Unique for about 1325 fps.390 gr out of my Marlin. Bullets sized, according to my 0-1" Mic, .4593. Three shots , 100yds. Was a bit disappointed as my other bullets did much better. But, acceptable, I guess. The reason they struck so low is because the rifle is sighted in with my 422gr bullet at 1500 fps.287899

Finally today good groups. Yesterday I was using TP tissue to hold my powder in place. I noticed the tissue flying out the barrel after each shot. Thought maybe the paper was impacting the base of the bullet causing a loss of accuracy.Went back to a Dacron filler which burns away in the Bbl. Soon as I did that accuracy was there. MV 1450 fps. Picture is of three shots at 100yds. Two bullets in hole at left & one right. Shooting at some rocks confirmed the load was good. 45-70 with a 390gr at 1450fps. BHN 10.5. PC bullets left a clean bore. A good day.287934
