Audie Murphy and Bill Mauldin in the 1951 Classic, ''Red Badge Of Courage''.

I think I remember this great movie from childhood, but didn't remember the title. Certainly Bill Mauldin wasn't decorated like Audie Murphy was, but Bill was a hero and voice for the average, ''Dog-face'' combat man who, sick or well, hungry or fed, cold or warm, scared and lonely spent weeks on the front lines dodging bullets and shells, feeling like, ''A fugitive from the law of averages'' (Bill's words).

Though Audie and Bill were in their mid twenties when they acted in the movie, they both look like kids. And the guns used were, (for the most part) original War Between the States, Springfield and Enfield rifle-muskets, not trapdoors like in the remake with, ''John-boy'' in 1974.

Best part is, it's free on youtube! https://youtu.be/TTJoxAfvmKc

I hope you all enjoy it, it's said it's Audie Murphy's best work acting, so they say. Arthur Hunnicutt does steal a few scenes though, (on the march) ''This is the first time I ever went a hunti'n without my ole dog!''
